k, well first off, im new to this site, second off, im not new to computers... glad i found this site cause it looks like ppl know what theyre talking about...


well, maybe i should get to the problem... i've been playing the gmae called MapleStory (MS), and they decided to put nProtect's, Game Guard, on it. well, i didnt have any problems for a good long while, but i recently updated my version of XP SP2, and ever since, whenever i try to open MS, i get a blue screen of death.

now when you open MS (those of u that have the game know...), youre supposed to see the nProtect GameGuard dialouge box in the upper left corner. it goes though the whole; Status > Connecting > Downloading > Blah Blah Blah... then the gmae will normally start... well mine makes it as far as the dialouge box finishing... then the screen goes black... **DUN DUN DUN** bsod... YAY for microsoft... > _<

i've never had any problems with this game in the past, and if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated...

believe it or not, i have that virtual doctor post bookmarked already... o.O

if u go to the last page of the post, theres 2 kids with the same problem im having, and no1 has answered them yet... its not a driver issue, i just updated them yesterday.... no luck with that... it tells me "a file has made an attempt to write a read-only memory" and in all honesty i have no idea what that means, so in any event, that was a dead lead in my case....

Thanks jephree for the link, I read a big chunk of it and found that little piece of info. This place looks neat, think i`ll stay for a while.

Um, I had same prob as you. My advice is just wait to a nprotect update. When i had this prob i thought i lost my life . Just wait on a nprotect update, or do a scan with reg cleaner and ad-aware. Maybe that helps :P.
