hey iono if my hardware came with an installing cd or floppy so iono wut to do?

hey for the direct x 9.0c it won't let me downloaded unless i have some kind of key thingy and that cost like 134 dollars >.< so wut do i do now?
as well as not being able to use Windows Update I am lead to believe that you do not have a valid copy of XP.

You need to spend the like $134 for a valid copy.
Enter the directory where you unzipped the file you downloaded,
and then enter the "Win2000" subdirectory. Highlight the "ialmnt5.INF"

ummm but this disk was the old one i had that i did spent 134 dollars on and i got it out from my cd case to reboot it when this crashed so i didn't buy it illigally
