One other check is back in the Device Manager.
What is listed under Other Devices?
-
k
i will tell u tommorow if it is detected or not
i need to go
-
under other devices there is
Multimedia Audio Controller
and
RAID controller
-
If the nvidia card was detected but lacked drivers it would have showed there.
Just confirming that your computer is not detecting this card.
As to the Other Devices: If you have problems with your computer Sound and or RAID drives then they are seeking drivers. Other Devices is a category where the device is detected but there are no drivers to communicate with it.

i did wat u told me
i unplugged it and stuck it back in
it still doesnt detect it
but the monitor is connected through that video card
do u think its defected?

Start up in Safe Mode and go to the Device Manager.
Disable this device:
Video Controller (VGA compatible)
Then try a normal boot and see what happens. If you should get no video on XP restarting then go back in Safe Mode and Enable it again.

Sorry
I do not know where else to go besides reinstalling XP.
I would recommend a Clean install onto your 100 GB drive.
You will need to go inside the computer and set that drive to Master.
During the install verify that you are installing to that drive and that the drive letter is C:
Again I would recommend physically removing the 7 GB drive.

okie dokie
but how do u boot from cd because it says that my version on my computer is more advanced or something and i need to booy from CD
i dont kno how to

You need to enter the BIOS Setup and change your Boot Menu so that the CD-ROM boots prior to the hard drive.
Most BIOS Setups are accessed by pressing the Delete key right after you power on the PC.
Or look on the first screen for a line such as: Press (...) to enter setup
In setup use the arrow keys to select the Boot tab then Boot order
Use the Enter key to highlight and change options
Use the Esc key to move between tabs
After the change go to Exit and choose Exit saving changes
The computer will reboot. As it is rebooting insert the XP CD.
Watch for the prompt to Press any key to boot from the CD
Press any key
