Re: Why isnt my maple story working? Its saying fail to find proper screen mode for g
the message is:
cannot delete nvinstnt.dll: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
-
cyclic redundancy checks are data source errors. If the source is the hard drive then that would be suspect #1.
Go to start Run... and type cmd
Then type: chkdsk e: /f
If Windows is indeed on E: then you will be told that this cannot be done until you reboot. Do you want to do this on reboot? Y or N
Type: Y and reboot.
Also just another point: Open C: and see if you have a Windows or System32 file on your C: drive. If you have 2 versions of XP running this could be the issue. Or if you do not have a C:
-
shoot!
i have a system 32 on C !!!
wat should i do?
-
I would try running the chkdsk on E: first off.
Just curious: do you have this same file on C:\\WINDOWS\system32\nvnistnt.dll?
I think at some point you will need to reinstall XP.
Backup your data and Clean Install.
Again my recommendation is to remove the 7 GB drive altogether or at least install XP onto the 100 GB. You will have to go in and make that the Master drive at least.
-
it wont let me
it just says that the version on ur CD is not as new as ur computer or something liek that and then there are two buttons cancel and details but the continue button is disabled or something
-
Is this a Microsoft XP CD? Retail full version?
Are you booting this disk?
-
its a windows XP disk
i think
-
If it is it will say Microsoft Windows XP and if you move it around under a light you will see colored holographic images.
If it is a plain label of some type it is not Microsoft but an OEM.
The first question here is were you booting this disk?
If so the process should look like this:

jephree
i found something out that mite help you try to help me fix my computer
when i click device manager and under display adapters
it says:
Video Controller (VGA compatible)
does that help?
-
That would be an on-board Graphics device. Built-into your computer.
If you have a nvidia card it should also be listed. If not your computer is not detecting your nvidia card.
