when i start Max Payne 2 (the fall of Max Payne).... when the loading bar ends, the system restarts automatically. 4-5 times i played the game and after this im facing this problem. i have changed the resolution.. texture details, graphic details.. updated the driver but still...

Change this setting in order to get detailed error messages:

rt. click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced then Startup and Recovery Settings then unclick Automatically restart

Post back the exact message.

You will need to power off the computer from the power switch then.


Also for the greatest detail:

Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your latest .dmp file.

Then:

1) Download and install the
Debugging Tools from Microsoft
2) Download and install this
debugwiz
3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your latest .dmp file.
4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.

hey buddy thanx a lot .... only doing (rt. click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced then Startup and Recovery Settings then unclick Automatically restart) has solved my problem. after this i didn't get any sort of error msg, the game started, i increased the details level and resolution etc... checked it and i have no further issues.. thumbs up for u buddy and HaTs down for www.d-a-l.com... but after all this, a question arises in my mind that why did it happen... wat was the reason of restart, although im not facing any problem after unchecking auto restart?

Glad it worked for you but I don't know why.

Depending on how curious you are you could always change it back & see if the problem returns.
Then we could try to trace the errors.

Otherwise maybe the setup just needed a little shakeup.
