WINXP Home Best drivers for Ti4200

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've run into a problem with my gaming.I installed Area51 & decided to install Nvidia 77.72 drivers. The game installed ok but when it launched it crashed with the MS message" ..exe has encountered a problem etc". I then tried Hellforces, same problem.I have since tried a selection of drivers, but no luck.No doubt I have screwed up some Nvidia files. But I did run the Nvidia file remover programme.
A bit odd since I was playing Doom3 fine a month or so back, but this was before I started changing drivers.
Now I know my set up is quite lowly, but not having had this problem before am a bit puzzled.
Should I stick to WHQL drivers? or has anyone any ideas.Any advice welcome

Just to clarify: Is this your question:

    Have you tried older drivers?

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_archive.html

Always removing current drivers before installing new?

Also: Have you tried new chipset drivers?

I always remove current drivers first.I have tried 61.77 & 56.72,neither will run HellForces.I just installed Pariah with 56.72 & that's fine.I'll try another of the 6xxx,but not very hopeful.
I've never bothered with chipset drivers I must confess. Can this cause the problem I'm having?
Weird really,as this is the first non running I've had since installing XP in March.
    Any help welcome.

Updating the chipset drivers might be a good idea.

I have seen this help the Video drivers.

    Especially nForce & VIA sets.
