recently my computer was infected with spyware. ever since clearing this out.. my computers refresh rate is slightly slower than it was before... also when i try to run a number of games, ut2003,ut2004, half life... i get the message "critical error please enable direct3d..." yet i already have direct x 9.0c also when i open dxdiag... and go to display to activate said direct 3d.. it states that..

directx features
direct draw acceleration not available test direct draw
direct 3d acceleration not available test 3d acceleration (not able
agp texture acceleration not available

the (not able) is due to the button not being available..

help would be good

I would suggest uninstalling then reinstalling your graphics card drivers.

The standard method being:

Download the new drivers & Save to disk.

Then:
Boot the computer to Safe Mode options (F8 after BIOS) & choose:
"Enable VGA Mode".
Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.
Find your graphics card driver package & uninstall.
While in Control Panel, go to System, Hardware, Device Manager.
Expand (Click +) besides Display Adapter,
Right Click your graphics card, Choose Properties, Drivers, uninstall.
Reboot the Machine - It will re-detect your graphics card.
Then install the new drivers.
