HI THERE I HAVE INSTALL THE GAME FOR MY SON "SECRET WEAPONS OVER NORMANY"IT ALSO INSTALLS DIRECTX9.0B THAT WAS OK BUT MY PC ALREADY HAD DIRECTX9.0c. WHEN TRYING TO START TE GAME IT DOES NOT START AND AUTOMATICALLY TRIES T LOAD DIRECTX AGAIN .WHEN I USE THE FAULT FIND THAT COMES WITH THE GAME IT SAYS THAT I HAVE NO GRAPHIC ACCELERATOR CARD AND NO DIRECT X? ALSO I DID MANAGE TO GET THE GAME GOING BY GOING TO THE DATA FILE OF THEGAME PROGRAM AND STARTING IT BY OPENING A FILE THERE CALLED TELSA . I HAVE SPENT SOME TIME SURFING AROUND AND THE FEED BACK SEEMS TO SAY THAT ITS LOOKING LIKE A PROBLEM WITH DIRECTX 9.0C IT DONT RUN AS GOOD IF YOU ARE NOT FULLY UP TO DATE WITH DIVERS ECT.

What is the info listed via dxdiag | dispaly as to your Device as well as Driver?

You did say that this all worked ok previously did you not?

Any new hardware or software?

Also: look in your Event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Or: Administrative Tools/Event Viewer or Start/Run/ eventvwr
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details.
Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with these issues.

Hi there again well i think i cured the problem of the stuttering movies , This i cured by closing the spyware program on onthe bottom tool bar . But the starting of the game issue is stil here .I checked out what you advised and here are the results
in the applications i had this evet id up ID 1024 and the source was Msiinstaller.and at the same time had ID 11706 and the source wasMsiinstaller
In the system log i had event ID 20 and the source was windows update
and the olast one was event ID 7023 and the source was service control manager . dont know if this is related ? cheers BAZp

Have you taken all Critical Updates from Windows Update?

There was a recent upgrade of Windows Installer.

Have you installed .Net Framework 1.1?

Can you verify from dxdiag that you have installed DirectX 9.0c

If you want to check for new drivers search the manufacturers' site of your graphics card.

Hi again i checked all latest d/loads to my comp and all but 1 whichis sercurity update forNET.Framework version 1.0 SP3.ENG(KB886906).
and in my program installer it says that there is M/S NET.framework1.1 and under that it has a M/S FRAME WORK PATCH 1.1 (KB88609030).
i used the install clean up utility ok .
and i looked on dxdiag and states it is directx 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904).
Ihave visited and doanloaded drivers from Gainward site for the graf card .cheers BAZZA

Hi ,yea comp runs fine until you try install a game and when it does install it will not start the game up after install?. I have heard of simliar things and they all mention directx 9c and inthe end even after installing all the latest drivers they used an unistaller prog and then went back to drx 8? This sounds worringto me .

When you say you had this game installed ok before: do you know of any changes, besides DirectX, you've made since then?

Is this XP SP2?
Or what is the OS & SP?
