    Game problems... computer locks up.

I'm not sure what the problem is. My computer will lock up whenever I'm playing a game that takes hardly any graphics power like Age of Empires 2, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Starcraft and many other games of this type. But whenever I play games that take mucho graphics, like Unreal Tournament 2004, Sacred, Thief 2, Starwars: Galaxies, ect. . . my computer will run them fine.

All drivers are up-to-date, as far as I know.

    System specs are:
    O/S: Windows XP Home
    CPU: P4 2.4Gh
    GPU: NVidia GeForce4 MX420
    Sound: SiS 7012 Wave (onboard)
    RAM: 512MB

Attached DxDiagnostics if it will help any. Hope someone here can figure out what the problem is, as I am stumped! Thanks for everyone that took the time to read this and reply.

Have you downloaded the most up to date driver for your graphics card? That may help.

Yes, all my drivers are up-to-date. I just formatted and reinstalled everything to see if maybe the problem was with my software but it didn't help. I've no idea what the problem is...

    Hi,

im havin the same probs and ive bin lookin around alot of forums n it seems alot of other ppl r 2.it but it seems to be wit newer games.
my comp runs fine wit all apps n most games but lately my system has just hanged during gameplay but only during certain games including :- Call of Duty - BF:Vietnam - thief 3 demo.
i always mk sure i have the latest drivers for evrything including video, sound, bios, DX, etc..
    Here is my sys spec:-

    AMD 2.4ghz
    MSI k7N2 FSB333 motherboard
    1024MB DDR333/400
    WIN XP SP1
    SB Audigy 2 ZS
Radeon 9700 ultimate edition (cooling pipes not fan)

I think the prob is due to overheating or power supply. I think my power supply is 350W is this enough?? i have also attach a screenshot including my system temperature and voltage outputs.
i am upgrading my comp nxt week, shud i buy a new case wit xtra fans built in n a bigger power supply??
    cheers,

would apreciate it if u would reply to my email address.

I used to have this same problem .. its a hard one to fix .. mine was becaues my motherboard was overheating (not the CPU) i replaced my system fan with a better one .. and problem went ! ... but your problem could be software .. try right clicking the game's .exe and and select run as .. then just click okay ... see if this helps at all ??
