Battlefield 1942
when i play battlefield, the writing, when people talk is all fuzzy and hard to read...none of my friends have this and i tried to put my video settings on high quality and that didn't work..
also, when i join a game that is on a map that i don't have, usually, with my friend's computer, it automatically downloads the map...but mine just goes back and says error: map not found...and i've searched the internet for a website that i can download maps off of and i haven't found any good ones...
please help...thanks

Do you have a Radeon graphics card? That's the usual suspect for this sort of corruption. I assume you've tried updating your drivers?
Also, what speed is your internet connection and what version of windows are you using. Do you have a firewall / virus software enabled on your PC?

Ok, first thing to do is check out: www.viaarena.com and click on drivers. Then follow the on screen instructions until you have downloaded your new driver update, install it and then try updating Direct X via www.microsoft.com/directx.
If the problem persists, try re-installing the game. Unfortunatly the game doesn't actually support your graphics card so for it to work in the first place is a blessing indeed. The corruption you see may simply be a bug that happens when using a ProSavage graphics controller and I'm afraid there's not much else you can do about it.
