Hi guys, this is my first post and I have a question. I've got Sims 2 and I'm trying to install it but it gets to about 2 percent done and then throws up an error message:

A problem occured when trying to transfer the file 'E:\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins\globalcatbin.bundle.pa ckage' from the media


It's the DVD version of the game and I have sp2 installed, DirectX9.0c, an ATI Radeon 9600xt and a 3ghz p4 plus 512mb of RAM. Can anybody help me? If you've had this problem and solved it, can you explain how?

Well, your system looks up to par with TS2, so why it's doing that is very weird. Is it trying to put the file on the right drive? It says "E". This may seem like a stupid question, but are you using a DVD drive for the DVD version. That's the version I have also. SP2 may also be what could be causing the problem. If you already got this fixed then that's great, but if you are still having probs, then maybe I can help.

First thought would be defective media.
To rule this out, and see if the problem is with your PC, can u install it on some other computer and see if it comes up with the same error message ?
