Hi,

The Cricket 2004 game is running really fast in my computer. Its like as though it is on a fastforward mode. Can some one please help me to fix this?

I am not able to control either the batting or bowling. Sometimes the game runs in normal mode. But (of late) it has just been running in the fast forward mode. I have tried reinstalling the game, installing the latest directX, but it is still the same.

Can any one help?

I had the same problem. You need to change the power settings on your notebook/desktop
to "home/office desk". It reduced the speed on my notebook but was still somewhat fast (the speed reduced from 4x to 2x). Maybe it will work for you.
You need to :
1. right click on desktop and select "properties"
2. Go to "screen-saver" tab and click on "power"
3. Select th eposer scheme as "home/ofiice desk"
4. Hit aply and ok
5. run the game again

Try it and see if it works.

I just had exact same problem with NHL06 on my HP laptop. It installed, ran fine, then I rebooted and switched to mains and it went crazy fast.
I found one tip somewhere that suggested something to do with the power settings which seemed weird. Anyway, I rebooted again without the battery in and it was fine.

I have also seen this issue in some games resulting from the program detection of the CPU speed:

I have the same problem. The problem is indeed the cpu speed detection used in fifa. Its mainly laptop users such as me that have this problem because of the built-in cool n quiet feature some laptops have.

I also had this problem. The game installed fine and ran well, until I rebooted. A possible way to fix this (particularly on laptops), is to run the game directly from your Program Files where the game is stored, rather than from your desktop icon. This worked for me and may be worth a try.
