i bought the game youv probably all heard of half life 2, i played the game and finished it with no problems . I then starting playing counter strike source with came with hl2 and is a online mod. it was when i was playing cs source that i noticed that the rendering ( i think its the rendering, what it is is just big black squares and shapes on the object)of certain things is showing( see pic) on things like players and other objects in the game such as cars. the rendering will show when quite far from the object but as i get closer the rendering dissapears and the graphics are perfect!
i cannot see what is afffected this as it only happened on cs source, just about 10 minutes about i decided that i would play hl2 again from the beginning and just found out the same thing is happening on that.
i cannot figure out what is doing this, i have the lastest drivers for my graphics card, got them 4 days ago i think. when i drop my resolution to about 800x600 it sorts it out(no graphics probs) but then the graphics are bad! i usualy have my res on about 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024 (LCD)
i dont think it has anything to do with the games being too good for my pc as it didnt used to do this when started playing half life and my pc is definatly good enough for these games.
iv searched on google for some answers but cant find any, any1 got any ideas?
hi chou how about going in to the games options and cutting down the quality as this will give your graphics card a chance as hl2 is one of the most demanding games on a graphics card along with doom 3 which is the same
yea but the thing is that it worked before so it doesnt sound like my pc cant handle it!
also when i got onto the options all the settings ( like texture quality, water quality ,shadow quality etc) are all on high and it says that they are the recomended for my system!
ok spud think i made some progress, i listened to you instead of half life and turned turn things like i said before( texture quality etc ) and the graphics are sorted, not as good ( only slightly) but the rendering is sorted!
but . . . . now during gameplay, on the right should be a little box ( part of HUD( heads up display)) in the box it should say like how much ammo i got but its split and i can only see top half . . . any ideas?
started around yesterday i think when i was tinkering with res, il try and get a screenshot in the meanwhile il keep tinkering
heh well i did turn down my settings on HL2 and it worked fine ( before i said the text box was cut off, well, i went back on and it was fine, )
so at that point i thought i had fixed it, hl2 was perfect, no rendering problems, no text box probs
so i played hl2 for bout an hour then went on cs source to find that the rendering problems are still there . . . .
cs source is a multiplayer game built around half life 2 with the same engine but isnt hl2 multiplayer, in a way its a mod, but when it was released it was so succseful now its practically a game . .infact it is . . . . . .
