DVD-Rom and CD-Rom
I recently installed a DVD into my win.98. When I tried to hook the dvd-rom and the CD-rom at the same time my computer was only reading the CD as 'D' and not even relizeing that there was a dvd. There was power to it when I was starting it up. Is their anyway possible to make my computer seprate the two drives when both hooked up so i can use either?

Yes, there should be no reason why this wouldn't work.
Windows 98 will normally only be able to recognise a CD-ROM / DVD-ROM drive if the BIOS has detected it. The BIOS is the underlying system that loads as soon as you switch on the PC, before Windows starts to load up. It tracks information about all of the bits inside your PC so that it knows what to tell Windows about.
Sounds like your BIOS hasn't twigged that there are two separate optical drives fitted. Go to the 'Member's PC Help Articles' on this forum and you'll see my brief article about how to auto-detect the drives in the BIOS.
If the BIOS can't auto-detect it, then it's possibly a jumper problem but let us know once you've done the BIOS bit and we can talk you through further stuff later if that doesn't fix it.

There may be few reasons (probably not all): Install a DVD-rom driver (if exists), plug DVD-ROM in the CD-ROM place and see is it working, if it does you may also think is your power supply "strong" enough to handle all devices and the last thing is to try switching IDE data cable to see isn't it defected. Switching jumpers may help also as well.
