Re: My pc keeps freezing for no reason, can anyone please help?

Hi, I typed in what you said in run and it says the file dosen't exist. I have bought a 128mb ram module of ebay for my pc, I have run windows memory checker which gave me the results that the ram had no errors. The crashing has happend while using kazaa lite but it is usually fine, it freezes 90% of the time though when using bittorrent(varios clients). Also, I have been running task man to see what system usage is going on and when I run bittorrent the mem usage for the program starts at about 20000 and then keeps rising until it reaches 55000 or so, then fluctuates, don,t know if this is supposed to happen or not. Any ideas?

You've got 192Mb RAM and you say that you bought 128Mb from Ebay ..... so the PC originally came with a single 64Mb PC100 DIMM. Try removing the 128Mb DIMM and run just Bittorent (nothing else). Does it seem more stable? The answer might be to get rid of both memory modules and buy a single 256Mb PC133 DIMM from a reputable memory store.

However, the fact that Bittorent seems to be much more of a problem than anything else you're running (and also the fact that no-one has replied in the last week) seems to suggest that, if you've tried different versions of the software already with no improvement, then the only answer is to scrap Bittorent and just use an alternative

    Hi Ian,

This issue from a year and a half ago may well have a completely different resolution to your own problem, which is why the Forum Rules ask that each new problem is posted in a different thread. Could you please start a new thread in an appropriate message board in the forum and with a description of your problem and we can then deal with it on its own merits - thanks
