epspmgr4 When trying to print.
 When I try to print from anywhere, even a test page, I get this message:-
epspmgr4
An erroe has occoured in your program. To keep working anyway, click "ignore", and save your work in a new file. To quit this program, click "close". You will loose information you entered since your last save.
"Close" "Ignore"
When "Ignore" is clicked, the message blinks once, but nothing happens. Then I clicked "Close" and the following message appears:-
epspmgr4
This program has performed an illegal opperation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
"DETAILS"
epspmgr4 caused a general protection fault in module "epspmgr4.exe" at 0001:00001e17. "Phew"
What do I need to do to be able to print again? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer drives.
Hears hoping, Gary. :)
Re: epspmgr4 When trying to print.
You need to give a few more specific details about the printer you are having trouble with and someone will help you.
Re: epspmgr4 When trying to print.
My appologies Owen, i got a bit engrosed in the problem and forgot to give details.
The printer is an Epson stylus color 600, running on win 98se, with an Intel 82443BX pentium(r) 11 400Mh, and 256 RAM.
I hope this is enough.
Yours Hopefully, Gary.
Re: epspmgr4 When trying to print.
The program that is having the problems is the Epson print manager. Try removing the printer (there is likely to be an uninstall process in the Add/Remove Programs applet in Control Panel).
Once it has been removed, reboot the PC. Go to the Start Menu > Find > Files or Folders. Search the entire hard disk for epspmgr4.exe. If it's found, delete it. Then reboot again to make sure there are no startup routines or anything that's still trying to load it.
Install the printer again, preferably using the latest drivers from the Epson web site if you haven't already got them.
Let us know if it's any better :)
Re: epspmgr4 When trying to print.
I have done all that you asked, but every driver that I can find has this file. I am still at a loose end.
What I don't understand, is, why has this sudenly started to happen?
I am confussed and my head hurts, I so desperatly need to do some printing.
I realy appreciate all that you are doing, thanks.
Gary.
P.S. I'm sorry about the spelling.
I'v been, and come back with an update.
I thought that I would try and find a driver already on the PC. In the add printer thingy there was a driver called "Epson stylus color ESC/P2". I tryed it, it prints. I haven't done any trials or anything, except a test page, and I wrote and printed this from word before coming on-line.
I would still like the correct driver if there is one.
Gary. :)
Re: epspmgr4 When trying to print.
I'm not surprised that the same file is in all versions of the driver but I had hoped that re-installing the latest version from the Epson site might resolve the issue. Did it still come up with the same error when you tried to print?
Re: epspmgr4 When trying to print.
Helo DJNafey, yes, evry time i loaded any version driver i had the exact problem.
Yesterday i printed a photo, all seems fine.
Thank you again for all your help.
Gary
