My address book has the Import and Export files grey-ed out. How on earth can I export my address book files from it?

I understood that the Address book was independant and used by by MS software. I use Microsoft Outlook and Word but can open Address Book via Programs/Accessories.

It is this address book to which I referred. I trust this clarifies the situation?

Yes Paul, that's simply known as the Windows Address Book. 99% of us (myself included) have never used it from Programs / Accessories but you are right - it does look as though my one is automatically populated by my Outlook Express address book.

I do have the Import and Export options available on my PC but I know I haven't switched on any settings or installed anything deliberately for that to happen.

If no-one else is able to suggest anything more clever, I would suggest searching your hard disk for *.WAB and backing them up (and noting where they are). Then go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Select the option to change Windows components. Remove the Address Book option. Reboot and then go back to the same screen and add it back in. Reboot again and then restore the WAB files. That might help ...... maybe.

Incidentally, do you know which versions of Windows and Microsoft Office you are using? If you can tell us that, we might be able to find a known issue in the Microsoft Knowledgebase.
