My Windows 98SE has generally got loads wrong with it I think. But the one which really is causing me problems is explorer not starting up when i log in. I have to run task manager - then end - Runonce, Mirk4aba, Bhobqi. Until Explorer runs. When it has loaded I cannot enter any folders or My Documents or My Computer without my PC crashing.

I also notice I got this Cool Web Search thing that other people have mentioned, andim sure I have alot more.

Ill leave to think about the Runonce problem because the CWS problem is in wrong forum.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, if I had a Win98 PC with that many problems, I wouldn't even try to fix it - formatting the hard disk and re-installing Windows and your programs could end up being much quicker if you or someone you know are confident in doing this.

Alternatively, download Ad-aware 6.0 and try to get rid of some of the rubbish such as CWS first - the guys in the Spyware message board will be better at guiding you through this if you need help with it.

We are here to help but, sometimes, trying to sort out a multitude of problems is like flogging a dead horse. Sometimes, it's worth just getting a new horse !
