Sure. Ask away. I will look up Word '97. It should have a built-in application.

I am 5 hours behind you in Eastern US so it is still early evening here.

I found one link that will back up to 2GB online for free or unlimited GB's for a small fee:

    http://www.techmalaya.com/2008/02/12...-files-online/

There is also this program you can buy:

    http://www.office-backup.com/ms_office_word-backup.html

    And another:

    http://wareseeker.com/Business-Finan...4.7.zip/316882

Note I have never tried any of these. I am only Google searching.

There is also a free alternative to Word in Open Office:

    http://www.openoffice.org/

They have a backup extension also free:

    http://extensions.services.openoffic...ct/writertools

    Anyway that's for starters.

If you are interest in more general backup procedures please ask.

As a tip it might be worth installing Open Office and using it as a backup in case these problems crop up again. Open Office can read and write Office 97 files as well as many others.

I second the motion for Open Office. I dumped MS products (Word, Excel, etc) two years ago and have never looked back. Open Office is a sound/reliable product.
