Okay, so heres the deal. I have a windows ME computer (dont know branding or hardware specs) and it boots just fine but the only problem is that the mouse does not show. It is no where to be found on the desk top. I have tried both PS/2 and USB mice. Im thinking it could be a possible driver error, but i dont want to jump to any conclusions. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Is there a mouse shown in Device Manager?

Are there any yellow exclamation marks for any other devices?

Using the keyboard I went to the control panel to add/remove deivces. Listed in the devices to add was the mouse with a yellow exclamation mark. I proceeded to add the device and on the next window i was presented with "This device is not working because Windows cannot load the file name (vmouse.VXD) that loads the drivers."

It continued to tell me to give it the CD so that it can find said file but I do not have the CD's that are used for installation. Are there any sites that I can download the file so that I can transfer the file? or am I pretty much screwed for not having install CD's?
