    Unhappy Formatting problems

I have a computer with Windows 98 and want to update it to XP. How do I format it and then install XP? PS. I cant remember if I still have the software for the motherboard or the drivers.

If you know the make and model of your comp, then go to the makers site and get all the drivers, copy to CD. if your not sure, then get belarc http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
it will most likley show the maker or motherboard and from there you can search. it will show everythin installed on your comp

    Hope this helps

If this is an "old" machine (98 indicates such) then XP should have all the hardware drivers you need. Just boot w/ the XP CD, format C: to either FAT32 or NTFS (preferred), and install.
