A friend of mine was using my computer and they said it was moving slow so they restarted it...but when it restarted it wouldn't go pass what I'm guessing is the startup screen ( it gets all the way up to the step right before you see the icons on your desktop...it shows the image that says I'm using windows 2000 and that my computer is starting up but
once it says it is processing the network it does not go beyond that point) If it helps any someone told me to take out the memory and let it sit out for 24 hrs but it did not change anything.

Do you have your 2K CD?

If so I'd suggest a Repair Install:

Try going into Last Known Good Configuration by rebooting your PC
and pressing F8, not sure exactly but keep doing it and you get to the menu.
If that option did not work, go back into the menu and choose to go into safe mode.

I reckon ur mate did something.
