When I try to load ANY CD with a setup.exe file it wont work, unless its already installed on the computer, from my Nero installation Disc, to a game CD, NOTHING works. I can seem to figure out whats wrong, Ive tryed installing windowns again, but after it finishes doing the plug and play this it justs sits there, doing nothing so I reset it and it works fine, it goes straight in to the desktop. But still no CD action, PLEASE HELP, thanks.

Check the status of the CD rom in the device manager, click start, settings, control panel, double click the system and choose device manager.

Okay, I did that, no dice. It says its in working order. This kinda looks hopeless.

Go back to Device Manager, highlight the CDROM drive and click the Properties button. Go through each of the tabs - is there an Auto-Insert Notification option? If there is and it's not ticked, tick it. If it's already ticked, untick it.

Click OK to each of the screens that are open and, when they've all closed, reboot.

Any better?
