    computer powers up but nothing happens

    Hi computer powers up but nothing happens,not a thing comes up on the monitor
    It is a packard bell connect with windows ME on it. It has got 20 gb hard drive, 512 memory, i am using on board graphic card, a ADM processor. I have tried the hard drive on an another computer and it works ok i have all so tried the monitor, keyboard, mouse, floppy drive and cd on another computer and they all work ok. I have tried with a separate graphic card but did not help.
    Any help would be grate full

    do you get any beeps when it's powered up?

    Hi no I do not get any beeps when starting it up

    Can you get into safe mode on startup? Also, make sure you don't have a floppy in the drive, or other bootable device.

    Hi i can not get any think up on the monitor and i have not got any disks in the drives all though i have tried it with boot disks and that did not help

    you should get at least one beep to say it's passed POST.

    have you got any loose connections on the motherboard, if everything works OK on other machinery it looks like it could be a motherboard issue

    thanks for the time and input i have come to the same conclusion it must be a motherboard fault, so i am going to replace it.

    Bernard.....have you ever reset a bios?
