I am a computer virgin, have not got a clue !
my partner tryed to install speakers, but instead managed to lose a lot of stuff from my windows 98. its a second hand computer and i dont have any cds apart from "Windows 98 starts here.
im trying to install hp photosmart p1000 and i cant do it.
i downloaded magicdriver, but it is in PAINT.EXE and i dont know how to get it out of ther to launch it.
My head is a mess with the whole mess.
PLEASE can some kind genious help me ?

You should have the following software package from HP to install that printer;

I don't know how you got some driver package into MSPaint, unless your file associations are messed up. I would delete the file (which is in, or associated with Paint) and us the HP package.
