Red face Need missing file from Windows Millenium Edition

I have been trying for weeks to get my printer running and have run across a problem that seems to be preventing it from working right. I get a message that it needs a file from my Windows Millenium Edition disk, which I don't have as Windows was already installed in my computer when I purchased it. Specifically the file is "C:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL\ACS\" I am not "technically experienced", but have called around and tried everything I knew how to do to fix this, but can't get this file. Can you help?ops:

Hello and welcome to the forum!

It says its in the C:\Program files\Common Files\AOL\ACS\ Do you know the exact file name? And does this have something to do with AOL?

If i remember rightly the above path leads to the AOLDial.exe and is indeed part of AOHELL. Why it's interfering with the printer i don't know :-(

My advice would be to completely uninstall the printer and any AOL software. Then re-install the printer, make sure it's working and then re-install AOL. If the printer stops working you can then get on to AOL's 'Live Help' by typing 'Live Help' in to the keyword. Don't let them send you an email, they never work!. Insist that you carry out any changes while talking with them .

Let us know how you go VAL TAVAREZ.
If all else fails we'll look in to trying something else

I've Seen This Problem Before With Windows Me, Like Vidster Said Uninstall The Printer And Reinstall And That Should Clear Your Problem Up. Good Luck

Thanks to all who responded. I just figured out how to view the responses today so I will be trying your suggestions shortly. I already uninstalled and reinstalled the printer twice but keep getting that "Windows Millenium file needed" message. I am going to try to uninstall AOL like Vidster suggested next. Do you know if there is a way to download files that would have normally been installed when I bought the computer? As this seems to be where it wants to pull the file from (Windows ME). I tried the Windows website but didn't know how to get to the info I needed (if it exists)!

Oh, they've been outsourcing support to the local zoo for a while now, the zoo gets a kickback for every call answered ...:P
