I have just had to replace my hard drive in
my toshiba desktop computer which is model Equium 3300M I did fdisk and formatt using a windows 98se floppy disk
But even though it starts up i now cannot get it to reboot to be
able load all the drivers and software back on ,I was not able to find my
recovery floppy disk only my recovery cd's so i downloaded one from the toshiba
website , so after unzipping it on to floppy disk i put it in the computer
and turned it on but it says remove disks or other media and press any
key to restart so upon doing that it says boot failure , insert boot
diskette in A and press any key to restart so i put the floppy back in
restart and then it says remove disks or other media and press any key to
restart and so on , also when i put the downloaded recovery file
floppy disk in my neibours computer im not able to view it by double clicking
it or clicking explore , But when i put a windows 98se boot disc in
it does boot up to dos but i dont know how to make it read the recovery
    cd's ,
can anyone help me to resolve this please because my son requires it for
    his school work .

Your recovery CDs won't work on the new hard drive you will need to purchase a Windows 98 CD. Recovery CDs are tied to the original hardware and won't work in another computer or after installing a new hard drive. Sorry

Hi thanks very much for your advice ,
But i do still have the original hard drive which worked fine when i replaced it for the larger one But unfortunatly i used a windows 98se boot disk and formatted it , So is it possible to retrieve the information or files from it using software or something . Regards sollar
