    OS missing or is it?

    Hey guys,

I have a windows 2000 computer, it started coming up with the black screen and saying "the operating system is missing" but if I reboot the computer it loads and works fine. They could be working on the computer one day, and the following day (leaving the computer on over night) it gives me that message. I have some ideas of what it could be, but I want to hear what you guys might have to say.

    Thanks

Hard Drive Failing Maybe? Power Supply fluctuations maybe? What does Windows Error Messages say in Windows Error Log File.

we need some details so we have a good look at what we are dealing with.
    1. specs of your pc (proc, mobo, ram, hdd, vc)
    2. when it happens, what were you doing?

you may also need to check the even viewer (system, network, etc) to see if there is an error logged. then please post it...

By the way, you may also need to make a full scan of your PC, it might be just an infection.
