    BSOD Kernel Data Input Error

My laptop is about 4 years old and recently keeps coming up with this blue screen error message. It started about 3 months ago, coming only when I didn't touch anything for about 5 minutes but now it comes up constantly regardless of whether I'm doing anything or not. The error code is STOP: 0x0000007A It also tells me to disable BIOS memory options such as cacheing or shadowing as a possible solution but I really know nothing about computers so I have no idea what this means or how to do it. All virus scans have come up clean so far. Any help would be much appreciated, especially a step-by-step solution so I can try and fix it myself before paying stupid amounts for someone else to! Thanks.

My laptop started doing similar after 3 years, and I found that I needed a new battery.
Hope this works for you too.
