    Stuck in 16 bit color!!!

    Well I have it stuck in huge font and 16 bit color, from what I have been reading up on I think my driver got deleted. I have no clue on how to find out my graphics card or how to re-install it. I don't have the CD/or CD's to reinstall it, what do I do?

    Welcome to D-A-L.

    Another question to add to Bears;

    Are you running Win98 or Win98 SE (Second Edition)? (Right click on My Computer and choose Properties.) On the General screen, under System, it will list Second Edition if you have it.

    Also the date/time stamp on the majority of system files will be;

    Win98 = 11/24/1998 8:02 AM

    Win98 SE = 4/23/1999 10:22 PM

    (c:\command.com and c:\io.sys being two of these files.... At the C:\> prompt type in dir/a/o/p and check the date and time stamps on these two files. This can be performed from a MSDOS Prompt window.)
    To simplify things, if you have internet access;
    Download, install, and run Everest Home Edition on this machine. (Clean FreeWare, 4 MB) Once it's finished loading and running, look under Computer, Summary, Display, or under Display, PCI/AGP Video. This will tell you what display adapter/chip you have. Post that information. (Video Adapter and 3D Accelerator.)

    Also look under MOTHERBOARD.
    Post what is listed for your Motherboard (make/model) and the Chipset description.

    If you don't have internet access, but you have access to a machine which does (and it has a CD or DVD burner so you can transfer the file to your machine, get the installation file to your machine that way. I recommend using a CD-RW or DVD-RW disc as you're only using 4 MB of space on the disc for the file.
