My off-line computer works on win98se and Office97
I have a picture album on my computer mostly in jpg format
Usually when opening the pictures (photos and drawings) they fitted exactly to the screen size. Lately most of the pictures appear much larger than the screen and must be scrolled in order to view the whole pics.
There is probably some "fit to screen" command which I lost
When I open the picture, usually “Microsoft Internet Explorer” appears in the title line.
Please advise how to configure the computer so that the pics will fit the screen.

If you're running Internet Explorer 6.x, open Control Panel, Internet Options. Click on the Advanced tab. Scroll down to Multimedia. Place a checkmark in the box for Enable Automatic Image Resizing.

Thank you, but no. IE5 sits firmly in my computer and doesn't let to install higher version. I still didn't found a way to uninstall it. it's not important, as the computer is off-line.
But I solved the picture size problem by putting Irfanview as my defauly viewer and now everything is OK
