    as in operating system? no. The computer was given to me by my brother who is in the air force currently deployed in iraq and there were no system disks with the computer. I've been digging around and managed to get a 98 startup disk made to a floppy. Something else though. I don't really know what I've done but, apparently, yesterday I was fooling around and got aggravated at my pc and decided to throw in another one of these hard drives I got laying around. Well, I started the computer after I installed and the explorer message no longer comes up. Now I can boot all the way to windows, however, I'm getting another really annoying message. Intel82371AB/EB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller device driver not found. Any Idea how I may be able to locate the drivers for the usb root hub?

    The 98SE bootdisk link (new webspace) you were inquiring about;
    Win98SE Boot Disk

    And to continue on pc guy's query;

    Is this "new" hard disk now set as the Primary Master/Boot drive?

    If you're now getting asked for an Intel82371AB/EB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller device driver, either the machine is booting from this "new" disk, or, the O/S is finding some old hardware information from this "new" disk.

    I wouldn't make any changes to hardware or drivers without further information, so,

    At this point, since you have 98 running;

    Download, install, and run Everest Home Edition on this machine. (Clean FreeWare) Once it's finished loading and running, click on the Report Wizard in the Menu Bar. Save all hardware related pages (the default) to a TEXT file in a location of your choice. (It will default the location to C:\Program Files\Lavalys\EVEREST Home Edition\Reports, unless you redirect it.)

    Compress (zip) the text file and attach that zipped text document to your next posting. (When posting, click on Advanced, and just below the posting box you'll see "Additional Options", and within that, "Attach Files". Click on "Manage Attachments" and follow the prompts. Browse to the file and choose UPLOAD.)

    This report will provide the necessary information to effectively start troubleshooting your machine problems.

    In case you don't have a zip utility;
