I was having a wordpad error problem.I downloaded a OpenOffice&Jave program to fix it.It did but now I have no sound with my on line games.Windows ME.

Have you tried either reinstalling or rolling back the driver for your sound device in Device Manager?

Checked everything in Device Manager.All seems OK.

Device Manager may say it's OK, but reinstalling sometimes helps these matters.

Also have you checked your MS Mixer (Volume Control) to see if the OpenOffice&Jave programs may have either muted something, or taken control of sound elements. Ensure the WAVE, MIDI, and AUX (if present) are up full or not muted.

If i remeber correctly, doesnt windows ME have system restore, couldnt you restore it to a time before you was experiencing these problems?
