Thanku Dan, for your help with our earlier dilemma over the mouse to this computer, we really needed it...and was very much appreciated. ================================
Unfortunately now, he has brought his computer to us to see if we
can get it booted up, put on drivers etc...
BUT!!..
(His computer is an IBM Aptiva, probably a 2001 or so)....
When we first booted it up, the IBM Aptiva screen came up, followed by a few unreadable white symbols/letters not words in the upper left hand corner but it would not post... so we booted it up again.. this time it beeped 5x, nothing came up on the screen... we have tried narrowing things down, but still cannot figure it out... most of the time now it beeps 5x followed by nothing on the screen, and then sometimes it does the IBM Aptiva screen followed by nothing, or no beeps followed by nothing!! The few letters/symbols up on the top left hand of the screen only happened the first time we booted it here....
Do you have any idea what we can do to try and boot up the system.. My brother had to reformat his computer and installed windows 98se back onto it... but now this...
