Re: Loading Bar Freezes Halfway. OK in Safe
Hee Haw and Cow Patty, After switching out Dell CD-ROM with a Samsung CD-ROM I loaded Dell Recovery CD Windows 2000 SP-1 and got a press any key to start windows in the top left hand corner. Went through install, loaded over the existing windows file in NTFS and it worked fine till I got to loading files, froze up, ejected cd and the second I hit the button windows told me it couldn't load i386 file and ejected cd. Pushed button to reinstall cd and clicked ok then retry. Files started loading and finished Windows 2000 reinstallation. Felt good. Shut down Windows after removing cd and then turned on computer. After inputting Administrator password it opened windows and I played rock music on cd player with external usb speakers as there seems to be none in desktop cabinet. Everything seems to be working fine now and I'm tickled pink about it.

I would like to give Jephree and Dan my sincere thanks for their help in resolving my issues. Jephrees links to Dells website using his personal acess links were very helpful and considerate. Dans update in bios was very educational also. I am going to enjoy belonging to this forum and as soon as paypal account updates from Christmas shopping my donation to this site will be forthcoming. Ya'll should do the same when they help you too.
