Card Slot not found in Win 2000 Laptop

I have a Sony Vaio Laptop running Win 2000 that used to have a functioning card slot which I used for a wireless card. It no longer works.
The card works fine in another computer,I thin that the IRQ's got scrambled?
It keeps telling me it cannot find enough free resources ?
Is there any way I can reset something or am I going to be using this wireless card as a drinks coaster ?
    Many Thanks in Advance!

Hiya i'm not sure so we will leave that for other people to reply to lol, have you tried to use a usb wireless adapter, that just plugs into a usb port and also picks up the wireless signal good luck.

Yes, I borrowed one from a friend, seems to work. Was just hoping to use the card slot so I don't have to buy one. Plus it wold be nice to have the card slot working in case I want to use it for a cellular card

Do you have the drivers downloaded for the card on the other PC? If not I suggest downloading them. What wireless card are you using?

The card is a Linksys WPC54G-WB I have the CD that came with it.I loaded the drivers prior to adding the card.Problem is the is not enough resources.(It also lists the card as a ethernet controller card and not anywhere near the PC slot controller under the hardware profile (is this the problem?)
