Every time I go online, I have only few minutes before message " unable to connect to server" or "page not available" or something to that effect. I restart and repeat same scenario. Any suggestions?

Yes, a connection when I go online. Yet only for a few minutes. Then none. Thats when I have to reboot. No new hardware or software. New problem...last few days...

Try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

System Restore states " dec 30, 1899". Its broke. Tried earlier to fix with link at Windows help for someone earlier with same problem. Got to get System restore fixed. then I could fix "disconnect" problem.
