    Angry help me!! got old computer that keeps restarting

    ok I got an old compter that I wanted to give to my freind I have't used it for3-5 years it got's 98mb of ram 128 of e ram 226 in all 133proz 7gig hd 4x cdd os w2k I,m new at most of but my computer keeps restarting need any more info ask that pissing me off

    When does it restart? Does it boot into Windows? If so you might try the ideas in this post:

    Although that was written for XP most of it applies to 2K as well.

    If it restarts without getting into Windows at what point does it restart?

    Can you access you BIOS Setup?

    yes more info, when does it restart? WHat are you doing when it restarts?

    it restarts right after the bar loads just before it loads windows and yes I can bios setup

    Can you get into Safe Mode?

    Press the F8 key repeatedly after the BIOS POST but before windows tries to load.

    no it reboots after the bar loads

    do you mean the windows screen?

    if so, you press F8 before this (when you 1st turn on your computer and the screen is black with white writing (i think))

    yha i know that but after I pick it. the bar at the botem of the sceen loads then it reboots

    Do you have a Recovery CD?
