    Don't mean to be anything but helpful here so if you don't mind me asking:

    Are you sure?

    I have never seen a computer that could not boot its CD drive.

    Do you have a BOOT tab in the BIOS Setup? If so what does it list?

    What is the make and model of this computer?

    Actually I found in searching some models where this is the case.

    wow, ok lets see here...this is a tuffy....what kind of computer are you using (the company name, Dell, Compaq, etc.)? How old is it?

    yha it can boot from a floppy but I hook it up there is a floppy eroer I don't know the name but here this is off the mb p5vx-b rev:1.0

    it looks like he has to get a new mb if he wants it

    I think it for nero or for your p4 in Ubuntu does not work
