Hi,

I have been trying to upgrade my laptop from W95 to W98.
I am getting the following message.
Your computer already has an operating system installed which cannot be upgraded by this version of setup.
You need to obtain the Windows 98 upgrade.
Is there anyway round this?

This is the way they reckon it can be done but I've never been game to try it.

boot to dos and from the prompt type
ren c:\windows\win.com win.old
then type
ren winver.exe winver.old
then reboot to the w98 boot disk hoose cd supprot and then from the prompt type
setup
let setup do it's thing
