Hello, and Welcome to D-A-L.
What is the make and model number/revision of your motherboard?
-
The make is a Gigabyte. model# GA-81845GV, Thank you for you reply

Supports PC2100 (DDR266) and DDR2700 (DDR333) memory across 2 modules at up to 1GB each. In other words, 2GB total capacity. Hope that helps

..... but I personally wouldn't recommend more than 256MB on a Windows 98 system unless you have a specific application which would definitely benefit from it. Dan is our resident Windows 98 expert and he might have a different opinion.

Yes it does, Thank You very much. It may have seemed like a simple question but I'm not good with computers. This will help me alot...

Glad to be of assistance

No difference of opinion here. (Thanks for the results/input DJNafey.) I've just posted to another 98/memory thread which contains a couple of links which may assist you in the 98 memory realm: http://www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread.php?t=50031
