    Question Speeding up Windows 98SE

Ive been told I cant use more than 256Mb Sdram with Windows 98. Is this right cos I would like to try and speed up my Machine. I have four DIMM slots on my motherboard, so should be able to fit more memory. Please????

    Hello, and Welcome to D-A-L.

Windows 98 will effectively handle up to 1GB of RAM. Ref.: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=304943

It will actually handle up to 2GB, if managed/tweaked properly. Ref.: http://aumha.org/win4/a/memmgmt.php

Just ensure the RAM you obtain is a match for your motherboard.
