monitor problem

    monitor problem

    hi i,m a complete novice at this.
    my problem started a couple of days ago ,i get lines across the screen lined up with any print on the screen.i had not loaded anything or deleted anything.my wife had been playing patience and left it on screen fo a while,but she had done this many times before.dont know what to try next

    Hello, and Welcome to D-A-L.

    Have you tried the monitor on another system/display adapter to eliminate/prove it's the monitor vs the display adapter?

    If your monitor has a degausse feature, use this first.

    I'll attach a nice little program (214 KB) I picked up from somewhere which assists in the proper setup of monitors.

    Try it and post your results or any further questions/information.

    thank you for reply,i have degaussed it ,and checked with other progs etc .lines move with print,i,m convinced its graphic card.am buying one on e bay at moment,i'll see how that goes

    hi problem solved, it was the graphics card.replaced with same spec with cheap one from e bay.many thanks
