One day after logging in(dial-up), I opened IE, and then the window froze.
I then opened task manager, and pressed (Ctrl+Alt+Del)x 2 to restart computer. It then did the check disk thing for errors, it automatically went in safe mode. Now when I turn on my computer all i see is my previous wallpaper, but nothing else, no start menu or application icons.

Help Please

try opening task manager again in this mode, click "new task", type "explorer" without the quotes, and see if your icons appear.
