if u have the xp disk use that to del evey thing then use the win 98 to format it because win98 does not undersand xp

Well R.J, that is a method. You would have to remove the NTFS partition, create a FAT32 partition, then format it as FAT32.

However, after it is formatted, the XP install process would continue and you'd have to abort that installation. This would leave unwanted debris on the drive, forcing a new format with a 98 bootdisk anyway, which is where we're starting from. I do not recommend this method.

Plus we're still working on the drive capacity issue which must be corrected before partitioning/formatting.
