Hi guys -- it was your site that put me onto AVG free and it's been brilliant, thanks. BUT when I tried to download the updated AVG 7.5 it won't load because it only works with Windows 2000 and later. But there are still people out there using Windows 98 so any advice appreciated ! Thanks.

Did you install it correctly?

Update of AVG 7.1 to 7.5

Run the AVG Free Edition 7.5 Setup program
Click "Next >" on the AVG "Welcome!" screen
Click "Accept" on the "License Agreement on Use of an AVG Free Edition" screen
Select "Repair installation" on the "Select Setup Type" screen and click "Next >"
Select "Restart the computer now" (pre-selected by the program automatically) and click "OK" on the "Installation Complete!" screen to restart your computer and complete the installation.

Minimal system requirements for AVG Free Edition
Minimal hardware configuration which can be used for AVG Free Edition installation is a PC with 486, 32 MB RAM memory and 30 MB free space on the hard drive.

AVG Free for Windows is fully compatible with Windows 98/ME/NT4/W2000/WXP operating systems.

That's great, thanks for your help. What happened last time, I selected avgas-setup-7.5.0.50exe and it gave me an error message saying only Windows 2000 and above. But I followed your instructions and it all worked, so many thanks !

Glad its all sorted for you. They did the repair install so that existing 98 users could continue to use it.
