    help

I have windows me, but never had Word or Excel installed in the beginning. I had Lotus. No-one can receive any word processing documents as an attachment from me so I need to have Word.
My question is can I install Word and Excel with my existing windows me?- or do I need to update the whole thing in order to do this? I would appreciate any help that you can give me.
    Thanks, Claire

From what I can find on-line the last version of Office/Word that was supported for ME was Office XP (10.0) (Word 2002, etc.).

The latest (brand new) version is Office 2007 and the previous was Office 2003. Office XP (2001) was the version prior to Office 2003.

Thanks for your reply. If I purchase a new office 2007 I presume that will not work with windows ME?
Is it possible to still purchase office XP for my older system - or should I just get new?
Thanks so much for your help it isn't something that I have ever come across before.
Just one more thing if I purchase Windows XP will it already contain word and excel (Office)??
    Thanks

No Windows Operating System contains Office. It is separate software.

From what I read only Office XP or earlier will work with ME.

There are alternatives to Word such as Open Office:
