OK, IE opens fine, always did. And your link to Yahoo opens well also. Just in IE browser. But when I try to open FF, that "scrunched-up on top of desktop effect" appears. And Yahoo is my homepage w/FF. And that's what I'm unable to get opened.

Well just use IE or re-install/try a different version of ff
