Compaq Evo N1020v.
Windows 2000pro.
I havent used this computer for a long time and have forgotten my usernames and passwords.
I want to retrieve info from it then clean it up and sell it. I have tried all p/w and user name combo's that I have used in the past and all that I can think of and no luck.
ANy recommendations/help on how to get in?

Reinstall the Operating System. Do you have the Recovery CD?

If not then the manual might have instructions for a recovery partition on the hard drive accessed via a hotkey at boot. Next you can probably get a CD for shipping costs from HP.

Try this: At the login type administrator for the username with no password. Sometimes the Administrator account is not used and a custom username is used instead but the administrator account still remains from the initial install.

Yes that would be the only other option.

Slaving the drive in another computer would give access to data.
