I am trying to create a compressed folder. It all seems very simple according to the Help function in windows. Unfortunately, when I select File,New,Folder, I do not get an option to create a compressed folder.

Probably missing something very obvious. Any thoughts?

Go to your control panel/windows setup, scroll down to system tools, double click it and see if theres a checkmark beside compressed folder. If not, tick it, click ok, it may ask for the cd then it should put that option in for you.
